Product Import & Inventory Update Instructions For Shopify Stores

How to import products

1) Log in to your Jgoodin.com account

2) Click on "Dropship Dashboard"

3) Click on "Downloads"

4) Click on "Shopify Product Data"

This option will save the file to your browser's current download folder.
If you don't know the name of the default download folder just right-click on the "Shopify Product Data" option, left-click on "Save link as..." and save the file to any folder on your computer.

5) Log in to the backend of your Shopify store.

6) Click on "Products", "All products", and "Import"

7) The "Import products from CSV file" window will pop up. Click on "Browse" and select the file from the download folder (see step 4).

8) Click on "Upload File"

9) The "Preview your first product" window will pop up. Click on "Start import" and wait until Shopify works on importing the products.
This process usually takes between 30 minutes to an hour to complete.

10) Shopify will display a message indicating the time it will take to process all the new records. Close that that window.

How to update inventory

1) Log in to your Jgoodin.com account

2) Click on "Dropship Dashboard"

3) Click on "Downloads"

4) Click on "Shopify Inventory (CSV)"
This option will save the file to your browser's current download folder.

If you don't know the name of the default download folder just right-click on the "Inventory (CSV) Shopify" option, left-click on "Save link as..." and save the file to any folder on your computer.

5) Open the file you just downloaded with your favorite spreadsheet software, click on cell J1 and replace the phrase "* FILL IN WITH YOUR LOCATION NAME *"  with the location name.

If you don't know the location name follow these steps:

5.1) Log in to your Shopify store backend.

5.2) Click on Settings (lower left corner).

5.3) Click on "Locations"

5.4) Copy the location name to the clipboard by pressing the keys CTRL and C. IMPORTANT: The location name must be copied exactly the way it shows in your Shopify store.

5.5) Go back to the spreadsheet software and click on cell J1.

5.6) Paste what is in your clipboard by pressing the keys CTRL and V. You should now see the location name in cell J1.

6) Save the file and close the spreadsheet software.

7) Log in to the backend of your Shopify store.

8) Click on "Products", "Inventory", and "Import"

9) Click on "Add file"

10) Select the file and click on "Upload file"

11) The "Import inventory from CSV file" window will pop up. You should see a message indicating the number of variants that will be imported at 1 location. If you don't see "at 1 location" the steps above were done incorrectly.

12) Click on "Start import"
